Bakersfield Animal Control

Bakersfield Animal Control is a division of the Bakersfield Police Department serving Bakersfield, CA. We are dedicated to animal welfare and public safety within the city.

Our officers respond to calls involving stray dogs, injured animals (including cats), cruelty or neglect complaints, and animal-related public safety issues. We offer services such as field dog bite quarantines and reuniting lost pets with their owners.

The Animal Control Unit provides community vaccine clinics for rabies vaccinations, core boosters, pet licensing, and microchipping. Licensing must be purchased at the same time as the rabies vaccination.
