The Walsenburg Animal Shelter is a municipal impound facility located in Walsenburg, CO, supporting the Animal Control Division of the Walsenburg Police Department.
This shelter provides temporary housing for dogs brought in by Animal Control or law enforcement. They hold strays for five days before they become city property and may be transferred or made available for adoption.
The Walsenburg Animal Shelter is considered a “No-Kill” facility with a euthanasia rate of well under 10%. It's licensed by the Pet Animal Care Facilities Act (PACFA) as a small animal shelter.
