The Southbury Animal Control Department is located at 501 Main Street South, Southbury, CT. We are dedicated to enforcing all State laws and Town ordinances relating to animals.
We handle a wide range of calls including roaming dogs, nuisance barking, animal bites/attacks, and validation of rabies vaccinations. Dogs found roaming or lost are brought to the Southbury Pound located in the rear of the Firehouse parking lot.
The department also responds to emergency calls such as reports of animal cruelty and injured animals. Adoption hours are available Monday through Sunday from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm by appointment only.
Verbal or written warnings may be issued pursuant to Chapter 435 of the Connecticut General Statutes. Additional resources, including information on dog licensing and pet care, can be found on our website.
