About This Clinic

Winnebago County Animal Services is a department of the Winnebago County government located in Rockford, IL, covering over 500 square miles.

We offer a wide range of services including pet licensing and registration, veterinary care to animals in need, animal welfare and cruelty investigations, and pet adoptions.

The Animal Services department cares for an average of 4,000 animals each year and is the only government-run animal services/animal sheltering organization in the county.

Wellness & Preventive Care

Core Vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Parvo)

Available

We provide essential Core Vaccinations as part of our rabies control program and general wellness care. These vaccinations are required by law for all cats and dogs in Winnebago County to prevent the spread of deadly diseases like rabies, distemper, and parvo. All pets adopted through us receive these vaccines.

Microchipping & Registration

Available

We provide Microchipping as part of our pet registration process. Microchipping increases the chances of reuniting lost pets with their owners, and we require all adopted animals to be microchipped before going home.

Surgery

Spay & Neuter Surgery

Available

We perform Spay & Neuter Surgery for all animals adopted from Winnebago County Animal Services to prevent overpopulation. Additionally, we offer low-income vouchers and resources to help residents access affordable spay/neuter services through local veterinary partners.
