We encourage pet owners to make sure cats' FVRCP vaccines (also known as feline distemper combo vaccines) are current. Kittens can receive the first round of vaccines at 4-6 weeks of age and should receive boosters as recommended by a veterinarian.

We remind pet owners to take measures to prevent fly bites fleas ticks. Dirty drinking water breeds bacteria and attracts flies and mosquitoes which can cause heartworm in dogs and cats.

We assist pet owners in the community with flea and tick prevention for pets and their households based on need through our animal control officers. We also educate pet owners on how to use the products.

We want to remind pet owners that animals cannot regulate their body temperature like humans and excessive heat can cause them to become ill very quickly. In some cases exposure to high temperatures high humidity and inadequate ventilation can cause death.

We take animals found in conditions that pose an immediate health hazard directly to Animal Care & Control for their safety.
