Great Plains SPCA provides lifesaving services for approximately 6,800 animals annually in the greater Kansas City area. We are committed to serving the cities and residents of Merriam, KS.

We offer a lifelong full-circle approach for pets and their human companions with our three-pronged approach: prevention, adoption, and retention. Services include pet adoption, foster care, and volunteer opportunities.

Our commitment remains to the cities and residents we support. As Kansas City’s premium family shelter, we continue to support eight municipalities serving over 63% of Johnson County’s total population.
