The LSU School of Veterinary Medicine is dedicated to improving and protecting the lives of animals and people through superior education, transformational research, and compassionate care in Baton Rouge, LA.

We offer a wide range of services including specialty care as well as primary veterinary care. Our hospital sees approximately 20,000 cases each year, treating a variety of illnesses and injuries with comprehensive approaches like feline surgery.

LSU Vet Med is one of only 33 veterinary schools in the U.S., and we are proud to be a biomedical research institution. Our faculty and researchers are actively engaged in investigations across multiple disciplines, including cancer biology, disease processes, and toxicology.

At-Home Dental Care Education

Available

We provide at-home dental care education by offering teeth brushing services as part of our grooming program. This highlights our commitment to teaching clients on proper oral hygiene practices for their pets.

Urgent & Critical Care

Emergency Stabilization

Available

For pets that develop illness or injury during daycare beyond basic first aid, we provide immediate transport to our hospital for emergent stabilization and treatment. Owner notification occurs within minutes. Responsibility for costs is determined case-by-case.

Grooming & Hygiene

Medical Grooming

Available

Our grooming services include medicated baths, hypoallergenic shampoos, and specialized care for pets with skin conditions. We use high-quality professional products performed by certified stylists.

Nail Trimming & Dremeling

Available

We provide nail trimming and dremeling services in all grooming packages, a routine part of our pet care program.

Travel & Boarding

Doggie Daycare

Available

Our Doggie Daycare provides supervised play and socialization for pets on weekdays (Monday–Friday). Pricing is tiered based on client type (LSU employees/students vs. general public) and includes structured timeframes with options for added training sessions.
