About This Clinic

Kalamazoo Animal Rescue is a non-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to rescuing dogs and cats in Portage, MI.

We provide comprehensive care including rescue & rehabilitation for hundreds of animals each year. We also offer low-cost wellness clinics with Dr. Kathleen Corbett DVM, focusing on preventative care like exams and vaccinations.

Wellness & Preventive Care

Comprehensive Physical Exam

Available

We provide Comprehensive Physical Exams as a required component for all other services. Our wellness examinations ensure your pet receives a thorough evaluation to maintain their health and catch early signs of potential issues.

Core Vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Parvo)

Available

We offer Core Vaccinations including Rabies, Distemper (DHPP for dogs, FVRCP for cats), and Parvo (for puppies). These vaccines are essential for protecting your pet from common and serious diseases.

Heartworm Testing & Prevention

Available

We provide Heartworm Testing for dogs (and Feline Leukemia/FIV Testing for cats) using in-house and outside lab options. Early detection is key to preventing heartworm disease and other serious conditions.

Microchipping & Registration

Available

We offer Microchipping with lifetime registration using Buddy ID, ensuring your pet can be identified and returned if they ever get lost. This service is a one-time investment in your pet’s safety.

Holistic & Rehabilitation

Acupuncture

Available

We offer Acupuncture through our certified veterinary acupuncturist, Dr. Kathleen Corbett. This holistic approach can help manage pain, inflammation, and various chronic conditions for improved quality of life.
