About This Clinic

Sanilac County Humane Society is a private non-profit humane agency located in Carsonville, Michigan. We are the only independent NO KILL shelter in the Thumb of Michigan!

We provide shelter and medical care to more than 1200 animals each year and rely solely on private donations. Our services include adoption, appointments for microchipping, and a focus on finding new homes for homeless pets.

SCHS is run by volunteers and public donations. We are proud partners with the Bissell Empty the Shelters program!

We provide microchipping services for dogs and cats during scheduled appointments to ensure pets can be identified and returned if lost. Our team handles the registration process to ensure your pet's information is securely recorded in our database.

We offer spay and neuter surgeries as part of our mission to reduce the number of unwanted litters in Sanilac County. Our programs, including the Working Cat initiative, have successfully spayed/neutered thousands of cats and dogs since their inception.
