Veterinary Diagnostic Lab

The University of Missouri Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory (VMDL) is a full-service veterinary diagnostic laboratory located in Columbia, MO. We are Missouri’s only laboratory accredited by the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians.

VMDL offers comprehensive testing services including anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, bacteriology & mycology, molecular diagnostics and more. We support veterinary practitioners, livestock interests, companion animal owners, and researchers with advanced cat diagnostics and other species-specific tests.

The VMDL is a Level I Lab of the National Animal Health Laboratory Network and Tier I Lab of the FDA Veterinary Laboratory Response Network. We maintain an effective quality assurance program to ensure accurate results.
