About This Clinic

The City of Great Falls Animal Shelter (GFAS) is the municipal animal shelter serving the citizens and domesticated animals of Great Falls, MT. We are dedicated to ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of pets in our community.

GFAS utilizes adoption, rescue partners, and events to re-home adoptable animals. We do not euthanize domestic animals due to space limitations or length of stay.

We are committed to responsible pet ownership and providing resources for pet owners in the Great Falls area. The City of Great Falls Police Department handles all Animal Control issues.

Comprehensive Physical Exam

We provide comprehensive health assessments for all animals upon arrival at the shelter. These assessments include vaccinations and a general checkup to ensure their well-being.

Microchipping & Registration

Available

We offer microchipping services for dogs and cats for a fee, which is also included in the cost of adoptions. Microchips are designed to last a pet's lifetime and help reunite lost pets with their owners.

Surgery

Spay & Neuter Surgery

Available

We typically ensure that all domestic animals adopted from our shelter are altered before leaving as part of our commitment to responsible pet ownership and population control.
