Yancey County Humane Society

The Yancey County Humane Society is a privately owned nonprofit shelter located in Burnsville, NC, dedicated to working with residents and law enforcement to care for local animals.

We are committed to providing shelter and care through adoption, community outreach, retention services, and educational programs. We also offer a Low-Cost Spay & Neuter Program!

Thanks to generous grants and donations, we're actively fundraising to build a new stand-alone spay/neuter clinic. We are currently almost halfway to our $250K goal! We are also Fear-Free Certified.

Everything we do is made possible by the generosity of people and organizations, and together we can change the future of domestic dogs and cats in Yancey County!
