Welcome to the Highland County Humane Society! We are a private non-profit organization dedicated to promoting health safety welfare compassionate care and protection of animals throughout Highland County Virginia.

We are volunteer run and foster based. Our services include rescuing animals, providing foster homes, and facilitating adoptions for pets in need.

HCHS is unique because it operates entirely on the dedication of volunteers and a home-based rescue model.
