We recommend an exam twice yearly for senior pets. We count most pets as “seniors” after the age of 7.

Vaccines are essential for preventive care and can increase the chances of a longer happier life for pets. We recommend rabies and distemper parvovirus vaccines for dogs.

Another key component of helping to maintain your pet’s health and happiness is having them on reliable consistent heartworm preventative. Heartworms are spread by mosquito bites and can grow up to a foot long living in the heart and lungs of our beloved pets.

Fleas can cause itchy skin skin infections and spread tapeworms. Ticks can carry disease such as Lyme Disease Ehrlichiosis and more.

We will evaluate your pet’s weight against pets of a similar age breed size and gender. Your veterinarian will let you know if there are concerns over their weight.

We recommend annual comprehensive blood and urine tests for all middle–aged and older pets. These can check internal organ function blood counts hormone levels and test for underlying health conditions.

An annual exam is the perfect time to check your pet’s feces for any intestinal parasites.

Our veterinarians are highly trained to perform routine tooth extractions and will often remove the tooth during a dental cleaning while the pet is still under anesthesia.

Unless you intend to breed we recommend having pets spayed or neutered. Pets that have been spayed or neutered tend to live longer and have healthier lives.
